Music playlist week #2

Music playlist week #2

Welcome to Damson's weekly feature.

Each week we will share 10 great tracks with you.

Mac Miller & Anderson .Paak - Dang!

Funk instrumentals, slurred raps, and great R & B vocals make this a sun-kissed classic. Anderson .Paak's reputation is flying at the moment, and for good reason. It's a real shame Mac Miler will never get to fulfill his real potential.

The Horrors - Something To Remember Me By

Who would have thought that back in 2005 these Garage Rock Goths would produce something as sublime as this 12 years later? Not us, that's for sure. But we're insanely glad they did. A soundtrack of the last 2 summers, and probably many more in the years to come.

Daft Punk - Contact

Fun fact: When testing our noise-canceling headphones before they were launched, this was one of the 2 or 3 tracks we used constantly. Give it a listen, you'll understand why. If you like being immersed in what you're listening to and the feeling of taking off, this is for you.

UNKLE & Michael Kiwanuka - On My Knees

As Damson are huge fans of both UNKLE and Michael Kiwanuka, we were desperate to love this. Thankfully, we needn't have been worried because this track, from the hit movie "Rome", is incredible and well worth your time. So is the movie it's from to be fair.

Tom Odell - Another Love

It remains to be seen if Tom Odell will ever reach the level of success of his debut album, but he's very, very good. This is still the highlight of his career, in our opinion. Give the full album a go. It's a great listen.

Midlake - Roscoe

Some lovely, 1970's style Psychadelic Soft Rock from Texas natives Midlake. It's a pretty impressive feat considering it was released in 2009. Listen to this, love it, and listen again. Glorious. Roscoe seems like a really cool name too.

Blackalicious - On Fire Tonight

Don't let Daniel Radcliffes admittedly great karaoke version of Alphabet Aerobics fool you, there are much more to Blackalicious than that, this especially. This really gets the blood pumping.

Corey Taylor - From Can to Can't

Inspired by Slipknots latest album release, we revisited this highlight from the Sound City compilation from 2013. When Taylor sings, he REALLY sings. If you're only familiar with his heavier work, give this a go. You REALLY won't regret it. A hidden classic.

N*E*R*D - Deep Down Body Thurst

Ah, Pharrell Williams. The seemingly ageless, and probably coolest man alive. This was a real stand out from N.E.R.D's latest studio album, "No One Ever Really Dies". Try to listen to it without tapping your feet. Go on, we dare you...

Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place

So this could be on every weekly playlist, such is the regularity that it gets played at Damson HQ. But you know what? We don't care. Talking Heads are incredible and so is this song. This could well be one of the greatest songs ever written. Fight us.
