Music playlist week #1

Music playlist week #1

Welcome to Damson's new weekly feature.

Each week we will share 10 great tracks with you.

Enjoy!

Django Django - Hail Bop

These guys are great. A nice, jaunty, funky guitar-led number, not a million miles away from the likes of the Talking Heads, which gets a plus mark in our book. Great band name, too.

Teleman - Tangerine

We hadn't heard of these guys until this week, but after having "Tangerine" on a loop, we are now huge fans of the latest guys from the London Indie-Hipster conveyor belt.

Beastie Boys - An Open Letter To NYC

It's the Beastie Boys. There's not really a day that goes by without us having one of their hits playing at Damson HQ. For whatever reason this week, this one really grabbed us and hasn't stopped rattling around our heads ever since.

Groove Armada - Paper Romance

Groove Armada seem to have been around forever, and they kind of have. You forget how good they are and how many great tracks they have had, so it's nice to delve back into their back catalogue every now and again as we did here.

Tycho - Horizon

It turns out we knew Tycho's music before we knew it was Tycho. Great music and a little bit of something for every mood or occasion but this is our favourite. Have fun losing yourself going through their discography.

!!! - One Girl/One Boy

!!!, or if you actually want to say their name out loud, "Chk Chk Chk", are ace. So ace, 7 albums in and they still don't get the recognition they deserve. Listen to this and then everything else they've done. You won't regret it.

Fujiya & Miyagi - Collarbone

Don't be fooled by their name. They were originally formed by two guys called David and Steve who are from the UK. They just chose a cool name, OK?! This is some lovely summertime goodness, so enjoy it before the rain starts again.

The Proclaimers - Sunshine on Leith

Everyone loves a guilty pleasure. Not that there is ANYTHING guilty about this song. These guys show us they are so much more than long-distance walkers! A heartbreaking song if it catches you in the wrong mood.

Twin Atlantic - Crash Land

Keeping it Scottish with Twin Atlantic, this is arguably their greatest moment, especially live. Obviously, they've not been in the office with us but you get the picture.

Datarock - Fa-Fa-Fa

It's always nice rediscovering bands as was the case with Datarock. Nothing for years, then out of the blue a new album that made us go back and give them a listen. This is probably their biggest track. Good luck getting it out of your head.
